Senior Communication Specialist & Content Writer

As a Senior Communication Specialist and Content Writer for a transformative multi-stakeholder platform in India, your role will involve the following responsibilities: - Lead the writing and implementation of the communications strategy to enhance visibility and impact of the initiative. - Develop communication products (stories, articles, reports, briefs, and social media content) aligned with Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) principles. - Draft compelling narratives reflecting the platform's goals across various action areas including diets, agroecology, food waste, and leadership. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-create knowledge and outreach products. - Engage with media and influencers to enhance the reach of the initiative. - Monitor online conversations and media coverage to provide insight into emerging issues and sensitivities. - Contribute to content for newsletters, podcast scripts, event documentation, and promotional campaigns. - Ensure compliance with GIZ communication and branding guidelines. Key Deliverables: - Co-authored and implemented strategic communications strategy. - Narrative and storytelling content for outreach and engagement campaigns. - High-quality content for publications, podcasts, films, and social media. - Editorial content for the website, social media posts, and newsletters. - Metrics-based monitoring reports on reach and impact. Qualifications and Skills Required: - Masters degree in Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field. - Minimum 8 years of professional experience in content writing, communications, or development journalism. - Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in development cooperation, especially in food systems, agriculture, diets, or public health. - Strong background in narrative development and storytelling for impact. - At least 2 years of experience in crafting SBCC-driven communication materials. - High proficiency in English (verbal and written); proficiency in Hindi or other regional languages is a plus. - Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and stakeholder engagement skills. Minimum Engagement: - 15 person-days per month, spread over 20 months. - Flexibility to travel for stakeholder meetings, field documentation, or events (travel expenses will be reimbursed as per actuals).
