Senior Cloud OpenStack IC2 Engineer

As a Senior Cloud OpenStack IC2 Engineer at Perimattic, you will be joining our IT Infrastructure team to design, implement, and maintain storage solutions, focusing on CEPH and NetApp systems. Your role will involve cluster management, storage integration, network configuration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, automation, documentation, capacity planning, technical support, and mentoring. Cluster Management: - Design, install, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenStack clusters for high availability and stability. - Conduct upgrades and patches to OpenStack components to ensure system security and efficiency. Storage Integration and Management: - Implement and manage CEPH and NetApp storage within the OpenStack environment. - Optimize storage performance and plan capacity to meet public cloud service demands. - Ensure data integrity and availability through effective backup and disaster recovery solutions. Network Configuration: - Configure and maintain Neutron networking for secure and efficient data transfer. - Set up VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls to protect and segment network traffic within the cloud infrastructure. Performance Monitoring and Tuning: - Monitor the health and performance of OpenStack clusters and storage solutions. - Analyze performance metrics to proactively resolve issues and optimize systems for scalability and efficiency. Security and Compliance: - Implement security best practices for cloud infrastructure management. - Audit systems for compliance with regulations and manage user roles and access controls. Automation and Tooling: - Develop scripts and automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and management tasks. - Utilize configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for large-scale environment management. Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, changes, and procedures. - Prepare performance, incident, and availability reports for management and stakeholders. Capacity Planning and Forecasting: - Conduct capacity planning to prevent over/under-provisioning of resources and forecast future needs based on utilization trends. - Provide technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support teams. Preferred Skills & Qualifications: - B.Tech / BE / M.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenStack. - Strong understanding of cloud computing, virtualization technologies, Linux/Unix administration, and scripting languages. - Proficiency in networking technologies, CI/CD principles, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and teamwork. - Excellent communication skills and certifications like Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are desirable.,
