Senior CAD Technician

As an Electrical/Instrumentation & Control Drafter at WSP, your primary responsibilities will include creating detailed, subassembly, and final assembly drawings of various products based on sketches, job sheets, or markups of similar designs. You will be required to coordinate and deliver as-built drawings for customers, create drawings for permit purposes, and perform drafting changes or create new drawings as necessary. Additionally, you will update engineering design packages, prepare files for distribution, maintain and update CAD files, and assist engineers/designers with drafting and developing engineering work packages. Your role will involve designing and drafting single lines, hazardous area classifications, electrical layouts, cable tray runs, grounding, cable runs, wiring schematics, cable/conduit schedules, lighting panel schedules, junction box layouts, control panel layouts, I/O loop drawings, heat trace design, electrical installation details, and more. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing and organizing drawings, including tasks such as drawing number requests, receiving, storing, printing, and issuing. Collaboration and coordination with internal team members and clients will be essential, as well as working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Planning and organizing work efficiently will also be part of your duties, along with any other tasks assigned to you. To be successful in this role, you should possess a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control Engineering or a related discipline. A CAD Certificate or Diploma from a recognized institution is preferred. You should have ten or more years of experience as an AutoCAD drafter/operator in electrical and control systems, with strong knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Plant 3D, and 3D Modeling. Experience in Autodesk Navisworks will be beneficial.
