Senior CAD Technician - Roads & Highways

Role Overview: As a Senior CAD Technician at WSP Europe/Switzerland, your role will involve creating and editing drawings in compliance with CAD standards and detailing practices to ensure high-quality output. Key Responsibilities: - Carry out basic CAD and BIM design tasks as instructed by the Engineer - Handle all drafting tasks for a specific discipline - Supervise, coordinate, and support CAD Technicians in workload management, detailing practices, and work procedures - Review and monitor the production of drawings to maintain quality and accuracy - Create and edit drawings and sketches in compliance with CAD Standards and agreed timescales - Complete CAD tasks assigned by Engineers and CAD Coordinator - Coordinate and support the Complementary Resources Centers (CRCs) CAD team - Generate sections, schedules, and schematics from general arrangement drawings - Ensure drawings are issued and filed appropriately - Convert ACAD drawings to other formats such as DWF and PDF - Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to your line manager - Ensure Health & Safety practices are integrated into all work in alignment with company policies - Develop expertise and keep updated with developments in the technical field - Contribute to the technical capabilities of the CAD team - Attend and contribute to team/project meetings as necessary - Support the company's sustainability approach - Identify opportunities for improvements to enhance service delivery to clients - Lead by example and ensure Quality Management System (QMS) compliance across the team - Submit accurate timesheets by the set deadline - Provide feedback on all business development opportunities Qualifications Required: - Diploma in a relevant discipline draughting service with ACAD - Minimum of 10+ years of work experience using AutoCAD - Proven ability to work up drawings from basic sketches to full working drawings - Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD software (version 2020 and above) including various functions - Experience with CIVIL 3D, Navisworks Manage, and 3D CAD modeling preferred - Supervision and mentoring experience with other CAD technicians - Good working knowledge of the relevant discipline - Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Familiarity with working in a LAN environment - Working knowledge of BIM software packages,
