Responsibilities
BIM LEADERSHIP & CLIENT COORDINATION
- Act as the daily BIM point of contact for clientscoordinating model exchanges, leading BIM workshops, and addressing RFIs.
- Manage BIM Execution Plan (BEP) reviews and the full suite of ISO 19650 information management documents (including pre- and post-contract BEPs, NWC/NWD models, EIRs, MIDP/TDIP, information-exchange protocols, and model-federation strategies).
- Define and enforce required Levels of Detail (LOD 100350) at each design stage, ensuring outputs align with project scope and client expectations.
- Champion continuous learning by sharing ISO 19650 best practices across the design team and wider supply chain, helping colleagues adopt improved workflows.
MODEL PRODUCTION, SPECIALIST CONSULTANT COORDINATION & TECHNICAL QA/QC
- Lead BIM model development across disciplines, overseeing Revit MEP and architectural modelling. Ensure the correct implementation of project datums and templates and integrate Revit projects into BIM 360 (ACC).
- Develop standard Revit families as required, including model content, setup customisations, templates, CAD libraries, and documentation.
- Develop design and installation models for water features, interactive features, and swimming pools (e.g. lap pools, vitality pools, hot/cold pools, onsen/mineral pools, Watsu pools) along with their plant rooms, heating/cooling, and specialist equipment requirements.
- Develop design and installation models for spa cabins, including steam rooms, saunas, hammams, experience showers, ice rooms, salt rooms, heated loungers, and ice fountains, in coordination with architectural and interior design models.
- Conduct regular clash detection assessments, identifying errors, detecting warnings, and proposing effective solutions.
- Collaborate and review design models from other specialist consultants related to pool and spa scopes (including landscape, MEP, structure, architecture, lighting, and FLS).
- Embed rigorous technical QA/QC checks before every submission and coordinate rework reviews.
DOCUMENTATION & DIGITAL DELIVERY
- Prepare and manage BIM 360 / ACC / Aconex submissions, including transmittals, MIDP documents, document-control checks, and resubmission logs.
- Extract quantities, schedules, and asset information from models to support cost planning, procurement, and FM datasets.
- Coordinate client document-control requirements at project kick-off and during submission milestones to ensure alignment and compliance.
TEAM MENTORSHIP
- Coach junior coordinators and technicians in Revit family creation, Dynamo scripting, and WSP standards.
- Conduct quarterly skills reviews, identify CPD requirements, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
PROCESS DEVELOPMENT & INNOVATION
- Capture lessons learned to refine Aquatic and Spa Design BIM standards and templates.
- Pilot automation tools (Dynamo/Revit API), point-cloud integrations, VR/AR model reviews, and other digital engineering advancements to maintain a cutting-edge studio.
Qualifications
- 68 years of BIM experience on high-end projects, including at least 3 years in a senior or coordination role across MEP, aquatic, or spa design projects.
- Experience in thermal cabin or spa design, swimming pool, or water feature projects is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience leading multi-site production teams and mentoring junior staff.
- Expert proficiency in Revit, BIM 360/ACC, and Navisworks; experience with Dynamo scripting is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of ISO 19650 workflows, BEP development, LOD definitions, QA/QC auditing, and regional authority BIM mandates.
- Excellent client-facing and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical details into clear, actionable outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering, BIM, or a related discipline. Autodesk Professional Certification or CM-BIM accreditation preferred.
- A passion for continuous improvement, digital innovation, and collaborative problem-solving.
