As a Software Engineering Manager at Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in the Global Technical Excellence team by leading a group of software developers to deliver innovative engineering software solutions. Reporting to the Design Automation Program Technical Solutions Lead, you will collaborate with the Solutions Architect and Product Manager(s) to design solutions that address key business challenges and stakeholder requirements. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and managing a team of developers, testers, and Scrum Masters to promote a culture of engineering excellence - Cultivating a collaborative and innovative work environment through knowledge sharing and best practice sessions - Ensuring adherence to development processes, technical quality, and coordination with the Product Manager on budget and schedule considerations - Collaborating with the Resource Manager to manage team workload, prioritize tasks, and identify resource requirements - Coordinating with various stakeholders including Scrum Master, UI/UX designers, Product Managers, Product Owners, and Solutions Architect to ensure project progress In addition, you will be responsible for: - Defining and implementing a common tech stack and development best practices across the Design Automation program - Establishing technical documentation and implementing CI/CD pipelines that balance speed, security, and quality - Leading the adoption of Agile practices and DevOps throughout the development life cycle - Supporting solution design, addressing challenges, and providing strategic problem-solving - Ensuring quality assurance through test plan implementation, code reviews, and vendor management - Executing Critical Design Reviews before major releases of new solutions or features To excel in this role, you should have: - Minimum 10 years of experience in software development and engineering workflows - Experience in managing teams of engineers - Knowledge of modern CI/CD practices, testing frameworks, and developer tooling ecosystems - Expertise in Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) practices - Familiarity with developer portals, internal platforms, and self-service tooling - Effective communication skills and a commitment to improving developer experience - Experience with software delivery management platforms and various programming languages and technologies Ideally, you will also possess: - A Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field - Experience with Dynamo and Grasshopper At Jacobs, we prioritize a balance of belonging, career growth, and lifestyle to ensure our employees can deliver exceptional results for our clients.
