Amazons Global Catalog Operations team is looking for a customer focused Business Analyst to help us make the worlds best product catalog even better. The successful candidate should be able to leverage the latest in data mining, predictive modeling and business analysis to discover key meaningful, actionable insights to improve our catalog quality. You have excellent quantitative and data analysis skills, good business acumen, curiosity to learn, superior communication skills, and the ability to use data and models to influence cross-functional teams. You have a strong bias toward data driven decision making, and an innate ability to understand how metrics relate to business problems and to each other. You are experienced with and excited by mining multiple large and complex datasets in order to deep dive and understand the root causes of problems and make recommendations. Key job responsibilities In this role, the Business Analyst will be responsible for leveraging data driven approach to proactively identify opportunities to improve the quality of Amazon’s catalog by performing the following: • Partner with technology leaders, program managers, operations leaders and other internal stakeholders globally to identify, quantify and solve for opportunities to improve Catalog Quality. • Define, design, measure and present metrics / reports on different programs to Senior Level Management. • Helping operations with regular and ad hoc query/ data ETL jobs and work on simplifying/ standardizing operational metrics and reporting • Enable effective decision making by retrieving, aggregating and synthesizing massive data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format. Develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity. • Analyze and solve business problems for understanding root causes and driving forward-looking opportunities • Propose optimal techniques to sample massive product catalog for humans to audit different dimensions of data quality issues • Establish relationship between output metrics and drivers in order to identify critical drivers and control critical drivers. • Ability to write functional specs for tools and drive UAT for business requirements About the team High quality data powers unrivalled product discovery, informs customer buying decisions, offering a large selection. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 1+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 2+ years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience - Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights - Experience with SQL or ETL - Knowledge of Python, VBA, Macros, Selenium scripts PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working with Tableau - Experience using very large datasets

Capacity Forecasting: * Analyze historical data and current trends to forecast future resource requirements for the growing team. * Collaborate with department heads and project managers to understand upcoming staffing needs and project timelines. * Develop and maintain capacity models and projections to inform strategic decision-making. * Create estimated Trainer capacity to deliver against forecast basis on the derived headcount plan along with monthly recompilation of training numbers. 2. Data Analysis: * Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to resource utilization, project demand, and workforce trends. * Develop models and algorithms to forecast capacity requirements based on historical data and future projections. * Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in data to assist the leadership in taking informed capacity planning decisions. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree or equivalent - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc. - Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights - Experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of Python, VBA, Macros, Selenium scripts - Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Quick Sight, Tableau, Power BI or other BI packages - Business Analytics and Capacity Planning experience.
