The individual in this role will be responsible for developing new and exciting products for KnowBe4's customers, collaborating with other engineers in a fast-paced, agile development environment. You will be developing software using the KnowBe4 Software Development Lifecycle and Agile Methodologies, recommending solutions to engineering problems, providing technical direction to team members, defining approaches and solutions to complex technical problems, translating KnowBe4's strategic goals into operational plans, and facilitating coordination across functional boundaries. You may also act as a team lead for sub-projects. To qualify for this role, you should have a BS or equivalent plus 8 years of experience, an MS or equivalent plus 3 years of experience, or a Ph.D. or equivalent plus 2 years of experience. Training in secure coding practices is preferred. You should have at least 6 years of experience as a backend API developer for an enterprise-grade cloud platform, with expertise in building and integrating REST-based APIs with best practices of authentication & authorization in enterprise-grade production environments. Experience in building apps and microservices on the AWS platform using Python is required, along with expert knowledge in at least one web framework technology like Python Django/Flask/Rails/Express. Understanding and experience in building software systems following software design principles are essential, as well as demonstrable knowledge of fundamental cloud concepts, unit-tested, and secure code writing, and relational database expertise in MYSQL/POSTGRES and SQL. Knowledge of no-SQL databases such as Mongo and Elasticsearch is preferred, along with experience in continuous delivery and integration pipelines using tools like Docker/Gitlab/Terraform. You should be open to learning new technologies and programming languages as and when needed. Experience in working with APIs in the cybersecurity industry and understanding the basics of the current security landscape are advantageous, as well as experience building scalable data processing pipelines.
