Security Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage security controls across servers, networks, cloud platforms and endpoints.
• Monitor security events, analyze alerts and respond to threats
• Perform regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing coordination and risk analysis.
• Implement, manage and audit security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection and encryption systems.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, regulatory standards and data-protection practices.
• Lead incident detection, investigation and response activities, including RCAs and remediation planning.
• Oversee access controls, privileged account management and periodic access reviews.
• Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Applications, Network and Business teams to ensure secure system operations.
• Maintain security documentation policies, SOPs, architecture diagrams and risk logs.
• Conduct security awareness sessions and guide teams on secure coding, phishing prevention and best practices.
• Participate in audits, vendor assessments and cybersecurity maturity improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Expertise:

• Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS and secure network design.
• Experience with SIEM tools
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7) and endpoint security platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud security (Azure/AWS/GCP), identity management and Zero Trust principles.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001
• Experience in incident response, digital forensics and threat analysis.

Analytical & Security Skills:

• Ability to evaluate risks, identify vulnerabilities and design mitigation strategies.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure security situations.
• Knowledge of secure configuration management, patching cycles and compliance reporting.

Leadership & Communication:

• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams during incidents and audits.
• Excellent documentation, communication and reporting skills.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple security initiatives.
