As a Security Operations Engineer at Davies, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team of Security Engineers responsible for managing vulnerabilities from identification through to resolution. Your primary role will involve collaborating closely with IT Operations, Cyber Security, and various IT teams to ensure the timely resolution of security issues. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of IT operations, including but not limited to assessing the quality of security controls, investigating information/cyber security breaches, monitoring networks for security breaches, conducting vulnerability assessments, and developing software tools for threat detection and prevention. You will also be involved in implementing security measures such as firewalls and data encryption programs, as well as devising response and recovery strategies for security breaches. In addition to actively participating in a technology-aligned community focused on continuous service delivery and improvement, you will play a key role in enhancing the knowledge and skills of the team. Your proactive approach to learning and sharing expertise on Davies" IT systems and processes will be essential in promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee risk assessments and system tests to ensure the effectiveness of security measures. - Review security assessments for compliance with standards and regulations. - Scan networks using vulnerability assessment tools to identify vulnerabilities. - Troubleshoot security and network issues. - Write reports on security breaches and network evaluations. - Monitor security incidents and investigate security-related issues. - Update tickets in alignment with business SLAs. - Provide technical support and act as an escalation point for IT Support Teams. - Proactively monitor infrastructure and assist with risk management tasks. - Maintain IT security tools and assist with security gap assessments. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise: - Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining security systems. - Relevant IT security qualifications such as GIAC GSEC and ISC2 CISSP. - Familiarity with compliance standards such as NIST, GDPR, and PCI. - Knowledge of Network Segmentation and common security attacks. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach. - Experience with Microsoft on-premise and cloud platforms. - Ability to communicate technical information effectively. - Proficiency in managing third-party relationships. - Detail-oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. - Self-motivated, result-driven, and business-oriented.
