SDET I (Cypress/Playwright Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Senior SDET, you will be responsible for developing and implementing automated testing solutions to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. You will work closely with our development teams to define test strategies, create and maintain automation frameworks, and mentor junior SDETs and QA engineers.
Key ResponsibilitiesTest Strategy and Planning:Collaborate with the engineering organization to determine testing strategies for each feature.Document and create comprehensive test plans and automated functional and integrated test cases for feature acceptance criteria.Automation Framework Development:Contribute to and extend the current automation framework as needed.Planned and implemented an extensible automation framework to ensure its success across the engineering organization.Leadership and Mentorship:Take ownership as a team lead, ensuring all testing activities are accounted for from non-production to production environments.Mentor and guide SDETs and QA engineers in utilizing automation capabilities effectively.Testing Execution and Maintenance:Execute and communicate test results, maintaining test cases and documentation.Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all areas of the product and troubleshoot issues efficiently.Conducted white-box testing and participated in code reviews and architectural design reviews.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with engineering teams to enhance testing capabilities.Review test results with the engineering team and perform root cause analysis for test failures.Report and track issues in JIRA and provide regular updates to the team.QualificationsEducation:BTech in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Experience:3+ years of hands-on quality assurance and SDET experience, focusing on automation frameworks and testing.Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript coding.Expertise in writing and understanding Cypress, JEST, and Playwright test scripts.Experience with GitHub, GitActions, and CI/CD processes.Knowledge of TestRails for managing test cases.Proven ability to lead and mentor SDET teams.Familiarity with Kanban, Agile, Scrum methodologies, and tools like Atlassian, Slack.Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of resolving complex issues.Experience in creating, implementing, and executing test cases for both API and UI testing.Preferred ExperienceProficient in creating and maintaining automation frameworks.Ability to work with minimal supervision and take the initiative.
