SDE 1 - Backend Developer

You will be a Software Development Engineer I (SDE-1) joining our engineering team with a focus on improving Customer Experience and Post-Order Journey. Your main responsibility will be contributing to the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems and microservices that directly impact customer satisfaction. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps is crucial to build reliable solutions ensuring a seamless customer journey. Your key responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based microservices using Spring Boot, integrating RESTful APIs to support core customer and post-order use cases, writing clean and maintainable code following best practices, and actively participating in an agile environment for sprint planning, code reviews, and release cycles. Additionally, collaborating with engineers to design efficient schemas and queries for RDBMS systems such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, ensuring high availability and performance of backend services through testing, and troubleshooting production issues for timely resolutions are essential aspects of the role. The qualifications required for this position include proficiency in Java with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, hands-on experience with the Spring Boot framework, expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs, familiarity with microservices architecture and service orchestration patterns, a solid knowledge of relational databases and optimized SQL query writing, and an understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies. Preferred skills that would be beneficial for this role but not mandatory include exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, working knowledge of Kafka or other messaging/streaming platforms, experience with Docker and containerized application deployment, familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) for orchestration and scaling, and a basic understanding of ReactJS or frontend-backend integration principles.,
