Scriptwriter

Role Overview: As a Retainer - Scriptwriter at Ubisoft, your main objective will be to create and support the narrative script, in-game and cinematic dialogue, and all other game-related texts. You will work closely with team members from various crafts involved in game design to ensure the overall coherence of the narrative. Key Responsibilities: - Understand the intentions of the creative director to effectively translate the vision into words. - Develop scripts based on narrative storylines, character development, and other narrative foundations. - Collaborate with internal teams such as Gameplay, Cinematics, and Audio to deliver a cohesive and engaging narrative experience. - Ensure alignment with the creative direction and lead content designers in developing world, character, reference, locations, and script elements. - Write scripts that provide a point of reference for team members from different crafts. - Detail the general story as a storyline considering various player decisions. - Create character descriptions, describe places and atmospheres, and structure dialogues based on gameplay events. - Write scripts for cinematics, scripted events, in-game dialogues, menus, and displayed texts. - Review scripts, read-throughs, and recorded dialogue to provide revisions based on personal assessments and feedback. - Collaborate with the team overseeing narrative design to develop compelling scripts. - Provide immediate dialogue revisions and ensure all reference documents are up to date. - Supervise the script with the scripted events production team and perform other related tasks. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and writing scripts in a high-demand media environment. - Preference given to experience gained in a game development context.
