About the role The Advance Testing Section Head will be leading the section taking care to validate EEE/EV/HEV components, subsystems and vehicle systems designed and developed to equip the 2W/3W/4W vehicles under development at TVS Motor Company, main responsibilities are: 1. Support the design and development of EEE/EV/HEV components/subsystem and vehicle systems for EE and HEV through testing and Data Analysis 2. Performance optimization through testing and validation, participation to functional design and control development analysing data and participating to problem solving. 3. Through Continuous interaction with Hardware /Software /Integration /testing Sourcing teams ensure the adherence of the EEE/EV/HEV system to the company standards and the development of this standards. 4. Participate to the successful development meeting target Quality in desired Cost and committed Time. 5. Develop advanced technology testing system using HIL (Dspace, Vector, Opal,-rt, ETAS, NI), modelling and virtual theories. Functional Competencies: Demonstrated progressive competence in EEE/EV/HEV powertrain component and subsystem design/development and direct experience with automotive electric drive, power electronics, battery pack systems, regulatory and testing. Hands on, rigouros, creative/innovative mind set with experience in advanced automotive system development using advanced engineering and R&D methodologies. Ability to deal effectively with and lead within a fast-paced, dynamic and change-oriented environment. Deep knowledge and expertise in EEE/EV/HEV subsystem quality process. Direct experience on EEE value chain Excellent leadership skills with experience in building and leading engineering and business teams that may be in multiple locations (International experience preferred) Management of logistically distributed projects and team Record of accomplishment of successful vehicle program development experience, including verification, and launch of EV and hybrid systems. Project management experience Hands on experience in simulation, preferably mathworks toolchain and/or Scilab, Amesim, Ansys, Opera, Altair, Jmag Expertise in Mechatronic/Electric/Electronic component testing Knowledge on requirement management tools (like Doors Reqtify, Codebeamer etc. ) and development toolchains. Ability to work through RCA (why why, 8D, Ishikawa etc) Experience in V-model development process. Who we are This Optical Hardware team serves as the core R&D unit for Tejas’ optical systems and plays a pivotal role in the development of high-capacity optical transport systems, particularly for long-haul and metro networks. This encompasses monitoring patented industry trends, steering optical architectures, and contributing significantly to the design and qualification of optical components such as amplifiers, wavelength selective switches, power monitors, OTDRs, and transceivers integrated into Tejas systems. The team works closely with Hardware, Software, and PLM teams, providing critical input. Furthermore, this Hardware t eam leads advanced modelling of optical system impairments, delivering timely insights to Tejas’ simulation tools for customer network designs, following rigorous experimental validation in R&D lab test beds. What you work Contribute as Optical Engineer in various development projects. Be part of cross functional product development teams involving electronics, mechanics, software, and test. Work with advanced optical technologies like XQAM, Coherent Systems, multi-Band (C+L) transmission system, ROADMs, Raman/ EDFA-amplifiers etc. Work closely with multiple optical module vendors to converge on design and specifications, from prototype development to mass production. Characterize optical performance of pluggable transceivers and passive- or active components Prepare optical specification, test plans, and test reports with clarity and on a detailed level. Product maintenance and failure analysis for optical line cards. Provide support to colleagues and actively share knowledge Mandatory skills M.Sc. in Physics, Telecommunication, or similar, with a 1+ years of industry experience or fresher Solid domain knowledge of the fiber optics for telecommunications. Deep understanding of optoelectronics components such as Optical Amplifiers, WSS, Filters, and system level design, optical network design and deployment aspects. Experience from work in HW/Opto laboratory with test instruments like BERT, OSA, High speed oscilloscopes. Experience from SW development for optical modelling and lab application using Python, Matlab/Scilab or similar. Desired skills Basic understanding of HW optical Good debugging skills, log analysis and solving Field issues. Good knowledge with fiber optics Preferred Qualifications Experience 1 to 3 years’ experience from Telecommunication or Networking background.
