As the Caf Chef (Pastry & Savory) at our upcoming caf in Bengaluru, your role will involve curating a diverse menu featuring fresh bakes and delectable caf dishes. Your culinary creations, ranging from flaky croissants to hearty sandwiches, cakes, and daily specials, will be instrumental in defining the culinary experience for our guests. You will have the opportunity to contribute creatively to menu development, oversee kitchen setup, and play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional food quality for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing a wide range of pastries, cakes, muffins, cookies, and baked goods on a daily basis. Additionally, you will be responsible for crafting savory delights such as sandwiches, toasts, salads, tarts, and other caf-style plates. Collaborating on the design of our initial menu, maintaining consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation, as well as adhering to food safety and hygiene standards are also key aspects of your role. During service, you will manage prep work, baking, cooking, and plating while assisting in kitchen operations setup, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management. In a startup environment like ours, flexibility is crucial, and you will be expected to adapt and adjust as we evolve. As our team expands, you may also be required to train and mentor junior staff members. Alongside your culinary duties, you will engage with customers, support promotional activities, work rotational shifts, and participate in marketing initiatives to attract and retain a loyal customer base. We are seeking individuals with a background in both pastry and savory cooking, preferably in a caf, bakery, or brunch setting. Whether you are an experienced professional or a fresher, your passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients, creativity in the kitchen, ability to work independently, and strong organizational skills are highly valued. The ideal candidate will exhibit a keen interest in menu planning, recipe testing, and contributing to a collaborative, startup-style team environment.
