Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Control Develop, implement and monitor QC / QA processes for raw materials, in‐process production, and finished HDPE pipes. Set up and enforce quality standards in line with BIS (or other applicable national/international) norms for HDPE pipes (dimensions, wall thickness, tensile strength, pressure testing, hydrostatic, etc.). Incoming Material Inspection Evaluate and approve raw material suppliers; verify material certificates. Perform batch/sample testing of raw materials (polymer/HDPE granules, additives, pigments) to ensure they meet specifications. In‐Process & Finished Product Testing Monitor production parameters (temperatures, pressures, extrusion speed, cooling, etc.) and adjust as needed. Conduct regular dimensional checks, wall thickness, ovality, flattening tests, impact resistance, etc. on pipes. Carry out pressure, burst, hydrostatic tests, and other tests per standard requirements. Documentation & IPQC / Lab Management Maintain all QC lab operations; ensure calibration of all test equipment. Maintain records: QC reports (daily / shiftwise / batchwise), non‐conformity reports, test results, corrective/preventive actions. Prepare documentation required for certifications / audits (e.g. ISO, BIS). Continuous Improvement Identify areas of defects, wastage, rejections; perform root cause analysis. Implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA). Drive process improvements, quality cost reduction initiatives. Suggest improvements in tooling, process parameters, maintenance schedules, personnel training, etc. Team Management & Training Lead and mentor QC / QA staff, lab technicians, and inspectors. Ensure adequate training on latest standards, test methods, safety, etc. Foster a quality culture across departments (production, maintenance, stores, etc.). Customer & Vendor Interface Handle customer quality complaints / feedback; follow up till resolution. Act as point of contact with customers and external auditors / inspectors. Work with vendors to ensure raw material quality; issue vendor rating and improvement plans. Compliance & Safety Ensure quality processes comply with legal, safety, and environmental regulations. Ensure lab safety, proper handling of chemicals, disposal of waste, etc. Support internal audits; lead external audits for quality certifications.
