Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Fashion Designer at SAVA. The Fashion Designer will be responsible for designing and creating collection with an emphasis on embroidery. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from a reputed design institute. Experience: 4–6 years of relevant experience in womenswear, with a strong portfolio showcasing embroidery-centric or artisanal design work. Technical Skills: o Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. o Strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, surface ornamentation, and finishing techniques. o Experience creating tech packs and working with sampling and production teams. Creative Skills: o Strong sense of aesthetics, colour, silhouettes, and contemporary styling. o Ability to design modern yet timeless embroidery patterns and placements. Attention to detail: o High level of precision in sketching, detailing, and documentation. o Eye for intricate embellishment work and garment finishing. Communication & Collaboration: o Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with sourcing, production, and marketing teams. o Ability to communicate ideas clearly to pattern makers, tailors, and artisans. Time Management: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and seasonal calendars under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Design Development: Create original, fashion-forward womenswear designs with a strong emphasis on embroidery, handcraft techniques, and detail-oriented finishes. Trend & Market Research: Stay ahead of emerging fashion trends, seasonal colour palettes, and fabric innovations, with a focus on contemporary styles. Mood Boards & Concept Creation: Develop seasonal themes and mood boards aligned with SAVA’s brand aesthetics—elegant, feminine, and artisanal. Embroidery & Surface Design: Innovate embroidery techniques and patterns, working closely with artisans and design teams to translate handwork into wearable designs. Technical Packs: Prepare comprehensive tech packs including sketches, measurements, fabric selections, and detailed embroidery placements. Sample Development: Oversee the sampling process, ensuring prototypes meet design intent, fit standards, and brand quality expectations. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with production, merchandising, and marketing teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with seasonal drops. Quality Control in Design Execution: Attend fit sessions and provide direction for corrections on garment construction, embroidery layout, and finishing techniques.
