The role of a Relay Protection Engineer at Hitachi Energy involves overseeing the installation and commissioning of Bay level secondary equipment for domestic customers. As a Testing & Commissioning Engineer for medium to high complex projects, you will be responsible for managing completion of all commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively. Your tasks will include developing, deploying, and maintaining bay level secondary equipment, designing hardware and software functional specifications for Protection relays, Auxiliary relays, Meters, AVR, Control & protection schemes, etc. Additionally, you will be expected to conduct fault analysis, manage commissioning activities ensuring quality and timely delivery within targeted costs, implement design changes in commissioning, produce Red Marked up and as-built project documentation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of project processes, products, and system designs. It is essential to maintain quality service by following organization standards, collaborating with stakeholders, working autonomously or as part of a team, and demonstrating a willingness to travel extensively. To qualify for this position, you should have a Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, along with 2-5 years of experience in Bay Level control & protection Relay testing. Commissioning experience to handle retrofit and manage risk assessments is required, as well as knowledge of Control & Interlock logics, online, Transformer and Bus bar protection logics, control & protection scheme checks, and Bay level control & Protection software such as PCM, REB500 HMI, among others. Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is also necessary for this role.
