Job Description – Safety Engineer (Site) Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Reports To: Project Manager / HSE Manager Position Overview We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Safety Engineer to oversee and implement health and safety practices on-site for interior design and build projects. The Safety Engineer will ensure compliance with safety regulations, minimize risks, and create a safe working environment for all site personnel, contractors, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety plans, policies, and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments at project sites. Identify potential hazards and ensure corrective and preventive measures are implemented. Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations, codes, and client requirements. Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training for workers and subcontractors. Investigate accidents, incidents, or near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations. Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to enforce safe work practices. Maintain updated safety records, permits, and documentation as per legal and company standards. Ensure proper usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) by all site staff and workers. Liaise with external authorities (labour inspectors, fire department, etc.) when required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field. Certification in Safety Management (NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent) preferred. 2–5 years of experience as a Safety Engineer / HSE Officer (experience in interior fit-out, construction, or civil projects preferred). Strong knowledge of safety regulations, construction site safety, and risk management practices. Excellent observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills to effectively interact with workers, site staff, and management. Ability to train and motivate teams to follow safety protocols.
