SAP CPI Consultant - Application Management Services (AMS) Support

Role Overview

Level 2/3 support

Key Responsibilities

Incident and Problem Management

Incident Resolution:

Maintenance and Change Management

  • Minor Enhancements:

    Implement minor changes, bug fixes, and continuous improvement initiatives for existing iFlows, mappings, and configurations.
  • Deployment and Transport:

    Manage the transport of CPI artifacts (iFlows, value mappings, security artifacts) across tenants (DEV, QA, PROD) following established

    Change Management

    processes.
  • Documentation:

    Maintain and update technical documentation, knowledge articles, run books, and interface landscape diagrams to ensure knowledge transfer and effective future support.
  • System Upgrades:

    Participate in testing and validation efforts during SAP system upgrades, patches, and CPI version updates to ensure integration compatibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

  1. SAP CPI/Integration Suite: Strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and supporting iFlows in SAP CPI.
  2. Adapters/Protocols: Proficiency with various CPI adapters: SOAP, REST, OData, SFTP, IDoc, HTTP, Process Direct.
  3. Data Transformation: Expertise in XML, JSON, XSLT, and Groovy Scripting for complex data mapping and transformation logic.
  4. SAP Landscape: Good understanding of integration points with SAP systems like SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and cloud solutions (e.g., SuccessFactors, Ariba, C4C).
  5. Security: Knowledge of security concepts including OAuth 2.0, SAML, Basic Auth, and Certificate-based authentication.
  6. Cloud Connector: Experience with SAP Cloud Connector for secure connectivity to on-premise systems.
  7. Experience 6+ years of experience in SAP integration, with at least 2+ year specifically in SAP CPI/Integration Suite.
  8. Prior experience in an Application Management Services (AMS) or L2/L3 support role is a significant plus.

General Skills:

  1. Problem Solving & Analysis: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex integration issues quickly.
  2. ITSM Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL processes, specifically Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  3. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
