Job Description

As a Safety Officer, your role will involve ensuring a safe working environment at the project site by implementing safety guidelines, conducting audits, monitoring compliance, and driving awareness among workers and contractors. Your strong knowledge of statutory safety norms, risk assessment, and incident reporting within construction environments will be key to your success in this position. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and enforce site safety procedures as per statutory regulations and company policies. - Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and ensure immediate corrective action. - Develop, implement, and maintain safety plans, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response procedures. - Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks, and training programs for workers, supervisors & contractors. - Maintain records for safety checklists, incident reports, accident registers, and training registers. - Lead accident/incident investigations and prepare root cause analysis reports with corrective action plans. - Ensure proper PPE usage, scaffolding safety, lifting equipment safety, and material handling safety at the site. - Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and management to resolve safety concerns. - Ensure statutory compliance as per the Factory Act, BOCW Act, and relevant safety norms. - Conduct mock drills for fire safety and emergency preparedness regularly. - Display safety signage and ensure site housekeeping standards are maintained. Qualifications Required: - Strong understanding of safety regulations and guidelines within construction environments. - Proven experience in conducting safety audits, incident reporting, and risk assessments. - Excellent communication and training skills to drive safety awareness among workers and contractors. - Knowledge of statutory compliance as per Factory Act, BOCW Act, and relevant safety norms. - Ability to lead accident/incident investigations and develop corrective action plans.
