Safety Officer ( AM/ DM)

Role & responsibilities

Responsible for overall plant safety, Zero accident, 5S Activities.

Preferred candidate profile.

1. To advise the departments concerned in planning & organizing measures necessary of effective control of personnel injuries.

2. To advise on safety aspects in all job studies & to carry out detailed job safety studies of selected jobs.

3. To advise the purchasing & stores dept in ensuring high quality & availability of personnel protective equipment's.

4. Advice on matters related to carrying out plant safety inspection

5. Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety laws, regulations and company policies related to workplace safety.

6. Collaborate with management and corporate safety team to develop and strengthen an effective EHS management system that meets industry standards. Promoting a positive health and safety culture in the plant.

7. Provide regular safety training sessions to workers and employees on fire safety, Industrial safety, HSE regulations, etc.

8. Develop, maintain and update safety procedures and training program for employees.

9. Conduct Mock drill/Fire-drill, safety audit and Inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.

10. Support activities in getting the safety audit of plant by external agencies/customers and effective closure of NCs.

11. Regular visit the shop floor and interact with section heads to improve workplace safety.

12. Ensure that all hazards and risks associated with organizations activities and contractor work activities have been identified, assessed and actions implemented to eliminate or reduce the risk.

13. Identifying, monitoring and assessing hazards, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions in plant.

14. Review of SOPs/OCPs and internal procedure related to safety practices for adequacy.

15. Collection, compilation and maintaining safety data for corporate reporting purpose.

16. Conduct Safety Committee meeting, prepare & circulate minutes.

17. Coordination for Safety rules and regulations as per statutory requirements (Factory act 1948, Maharashtra factory Rules) & ISO 45001:2018.

18. Coordinate with Plant maintenance teams on improving machine safety as per applicable guidelines, standards and regulations.

19. Conduct 5S trainings and strengthening of 5S points.

20. Coordinate for improvement of Plant safety Score (by Internal/Customers)

21. Organize employees involving and motivation programs National Safety Week etc.

22. Participate actively in investigation of incidents, analysis, reporting the root cause analysis using appropriate tools.

23. Ensure that the any contractors activities comply with organization’s HSE policy as well as meet local statutory HSE regulations.

24. Prepare and circulate MIS to plant and corporate team.

25. Participate in ESG data reporting activity at plant level, as per Customer’s requirements.
