Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities - Support, coordinate and assist top management in safety management model - Remain in touch with top management and make them aware of present safety trend in the organization - Assist and advise top management for setting up goals and priorities for safety - Coordinate with Zonal Heads and line management for carrying out safety inspections, tests, etc. - Advise and assist top management and line management as well for identification of hazards in case of new processes - Assist and advice top management and R&D regarding various tests/ experiments like Calorimetry, Toxicological Tests and other tests, if need be, for new and existing processes as well - Assist and advice top management (Board of Directors) to remain in touch with global trends of field safety and process safety, for this, organize training from international experts - Develop safety systems, policies, and procedures best-in class for safety function - Central Safety Head should develop operational practices for safety function considering long term global sustainability - Through his Zonal Heads, Safety Managers and Officers, he should develop safety practices which are globally accepted and in line with global standardization - Develop a plan for risk assessment for protecting employees' health, assuming employees are important assets for the development of the organization for global long-term sustainability - Develop a plan to reduce accidents/ incidents by capturing and learning from global events - Motivate entire safety and health personnel through regular meetings and interactions - Review and improve periodically work permits including JSA - Assist and advice management for improvement of safety and global sustainability - Ensure periodic review of goals and policies - Ensure statutory compliance at all units of Aarti Group of Industries - Identify gaps between global standards / practices - Assist and advice management how to correct these gaps - Motivate safety department personnel to maintain quality standards (ISO-14001/9001/TFS/OHSAS) - Maintain high quality of standards for identification of hazards i.e. HIRA, HAZOP, What If, etc. (High quality of standards means globally / internationally accepted) - Authorize selected i.e. process change MoC, which is having critical impact on process"" - Ensure competency of PSSR system - Revise GPC Audit Checklist as and when required - Extend guidance to safety team conducting GPC Audits to improve its competency - Review and evaluate mock drill reports and extend guidance to improve competency of team responding to emergency - Ensure appropriate waste management as per the set guidelines - Ensure BBS system is in place and is followed at all sites i.e. Chemical, API and Surfactants - Assist and advice management on hazards and sustainability on new upcoming projects - Ensure compliance of legal aspects for new projects"" - Assist and advice R & D Head regarding innovations in Calorimetry, carrying out various experiments to understand the hazards of process - Ensure Calorimetry results are available, interpreted appropriately and used in the process before conducting trials at Pilot Plant - Ensure appropriate safety studies have been carried out before trial run in lab and pilot plant as well - Ensure all the information regarding history of mishaps is available before starting trial run"" - Assist and advice management regarding safety aspects of new technology - Periodically review progress of project with respect to safety aspects - Advice Project Manager on Safety aspects at different phases in advance - Assist and advice management safety studies to be carried out from external competent agencies Preferred candidate profile Candidate Having Education :- BE/ B.Tech + PDIS or ADIS Experiance :- 2 & Above Notice Period :- 1 or 2 Month
