· Assist in providing nutritional and dietary advice to Inpatients with complex needs by assessing their nutritional requirements and advising on the most appropriate therapeutic diets and intervention. · Provide nutritional advice to individuals who visit the hospital as out patient's cross referrals, Health check, Paediatric clinic, Heart check, sports medicine package etc. · Select type and amount of food for therapeutic diets based on indicated physiological and psychological needs of patients; integrates patient’s needs with basic institutional menus and patient food preferences; indicates mode of feeding for patients; prepares home diet plans for outpatients and in patients. · Prepare and explain materials and publications which are given to the patient in support of nutrition care plan; Develop protocols and interprets and utilizes current research related to nutrition care. · Participate in in-service training programs, demonstrate and explain topics of nutrition to physicians, interns and nursing staff; on the job training in medical nutrition therapy to dietetic interns and nursing students. · Ensure liaising with the F & B department and the caterer to assist them in planning, controlling and evaluating food service, establishes standards of sanitation, safety and hygiene of the kitchen and food assembly area, conducts studies to improve the operations, efficiency, and quality of food service systems. · Work closely with vendor dietician’s / support services to ensure patient receives the correct diet and patient satisfaction.
