This role will involve reporting to the head of the Actuarial Data Warehouse Business Intelligence, focusing on a cloud-based data and analytics environment. Within this environment, client data is processed to support advanced actuarial and data science analytics using tools such as Databricks, DBT, MS Fabrics, and Power BI. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, implementing, testing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining data enrichments and reporting models to facilitate actuarial reporting and analytics. You will collaborate with the BI team to build and deploy healthcare data enrichments, create high-performance reporting models using DBT for Power BI deployment, design Azure Databricks jobs using Python and Spark, establish and maintain CI/CD processes using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and Maven, provide support for monthly and quarterly production activities, document data definitions and processes for data governance and security, address non-standard requests and issues, maintain the self-service BI warehouse, collaborate with business owners to incorporate new enrichments and develop reporting models, and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and directives. Required qualifications for this role include an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, 7 years of overall experience in Data and Analytics engineering, 5 years of experience coding for Big Data solutions using Spark and Python, familiarity with Azure, Databricks, DBT, medical and RX claims, MS Fabric, Power BI, CICD tools, and experience in designing and deploying reporting data models. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and excellent communication skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include an undergraduate degree in a STEM field, Snowflake experience, Power BI development experience, previous work as an actuary, and knowledge of healthcare concepts like benefits, pricing, underwriting, and reserves.
