Ruthvik Infotech GIS 3 Month Internship: Objective: To provide hands-on training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), focusing on spatial data management, analysis, and visualization, enabling participants to apply GIS tools to real-world problems. Month 1: Foundation & Tools Focus: Basics of GIS, Data Handling, Software Skills Introduction to GIS concepts: spatial vs. non-spatial data, raster vs. vector. Overview of GIS applications in urban planning, environment, utilities, etc. Software training: QGIS/ArcGIS (installation, interface, data import/export). Data sources: open data, satellite imagery, shapefiles, geodatabases. Basic map creation & symbology. Mini project: Create thematic maps (land use, population, water resources). Month 2: Spatial Analysis & Remote Sensing Focus: Analytical Skills & Practical Exposure Spatial analysis: buffering, overlay, network analysis. Georeferencing maps & digitization. Introduction to Remote Sensing (RS): satellite imagery, resolution, sensors. Image classification techniques (supervised, unsupervised). GPS basics: field data collection and integration into GIS. Mini project: Land cover mapping using satellite imagery. Month 3: Applications & Project Work Focus: Industry Applications & Capstone Project GIS in urban planning, disaster management, agriculture, and the environment.
