As an L2 Security Engineer (Firewall) in our organization, your primary responsibility will be to manage, support, and optimize our enterprise firewall infrastructure. You will play a key role in firewall configuration, rule management, troubleshooting, and collaborating closely with other IT and security teams to ensure secure network access. Your responsibilities will include administering and maintaining firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/FTD, among others. You will review, implement, and optimize firewall policies and rule sets to enhance security measures. Regular audits of firewall rules will be conducted by you to minimize risks and ensure compliance with industry standards. In case of Level 2 incidents, service requests, and escalations related to network security, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving them efficiently. Monitoring firewall logs and alerts to analyze and respond to suspicious activities will also be part of your routine tasks. You will support changes and deployments following change management processes and collaborate with L3 engineers of OEM for incident response and escalation. Furthermore, your input will be valuable in providing insights into security design for new network integrations or changes. You will also assist in firewall OS upgrades, patching, backup, and health checks. Documenting configurations, standard procedures, and incident resolution steps will be essential to maintain clear records and ensure smooth operations.
