Department: Housekeeping Location: Rudra Paying Guest House, Varanasi Reporting To: Housekeeping Supervisor / Manager Job Summary:The Housekeeping Staff is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and tidy environment for guests and staff. This includes daily cleaning, linen handling, replenishing supplies, and ensuring all guest areas meet the highest cleanliness standards. Key Responsibilities:Clean and tidy guest rooms and bathrooms daily. Change bed linens and replace used towels with clean ones. Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, mop floors, and clean windows and mirrors. Refill amenities like soap, shampoo, tissues, and drinking water. Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner. Maintain cleanliness in public areas (lobby, staircases, corridors). Report any maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor. Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning supplies and equipment. Handle guest requests politely and efficiently. Follow safety and sanitation policies at all times.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Room DutiesClean and sanitize guest rooms daily (beds, floors, bathrooms, furniture). Change linens, towels, blankets, and replenish toiletries (soap, shampoo, body wash, toilet paper). Check functionality of TV, internet, AC, geyser, and report any defects immediately. Arrange room amenities neatly (towels folded, water bottles placed, etc.). Ensure rooms are “guest ready” before check-in. Public Area DutiesMaintain cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, staircases, and common areas. Empty dustbins, replace garbage bags, and ensure waste is disposed of properly. Clean glass doors, windows, and maintain a fresh ambiance. Laundry & Linen ManagementCollect, wash, and iron bed sheets, pillow covers, and towels. Maintain stock of clean linens and inform management when replenishment is needed. Ensure proper handling and storage of housekeeping supplies. Safety & HygieneFollow safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment. Report any suspicious activity, lost & found items, or guest complaints to the Front Office/Manager. Maintain hygiene standards as per government/tourism guidelines. Skills & QualificationsPrior housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred. Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals. Basic communication skills (Hindi/English). Attention to detail and time management. Polite, professional, and trustworthy.
