Qualcomm India Private Limited is looking for software engineers who can define software architectures while considering software as a part of a larger system that includes both software and hardware components. Architectural experience is not mandatory, but strong software engineering skills and a willingness to approach problems at the system level are essential. As a software engineer at Qualcomm, you will have two primary responsibilities: 1) Contributing to the definition of next-generation architectures for upcoming Qualcomm SoCs. 2) Leading the software design process to implement the architecture on each SoC, with a specific focus on power, thermal, and limits management while also considering metrics like performance and cost. Qualcomm SoCs cater to various product categories such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, IoT devices, servers, AR/VR systems, and automotive applications. A key challenge in this role is to ensure consistency in architecture across these diverse product categories. Your role will involve collaborating with engineers from different disciplines and working with various technologies such as advanced CPUs, Hexagon DSPs, Adreno GPUs, AR/VR, ML/AI, 5G modems, Wireless LAN, and GPS. You will participate in defining and communicating next-generation architectures for Qualcomm SoCs, emphasizing power, thermal, and limits management. Additionally, you will drive the process of translating the architecture into software design and requirements for each SoC. Working closely with software teams, you will provide guidance on architecture and design, as well as assist in issue resolution. Designing tools to identify and troubleshoot power consumption issues on development platforms and commercial devices will also be part of your responsibilities. Preferred skills and experience for this role include: - 8+ years of experience in software development for SoCs in wireless, automotive, and/or IoT domains. - Strong analytical skills and the ability to address problems at a system level. - Expertise in areas such as device drivers, RTOSs, ADAS, ARM processor architectures, power/thermal/limits management, and virtualization.
