As a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at Dhirubhai Ambani University (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, you will have the opportunity to work on a sponsored research project funded by the Space Applications Center-ISRO, Ahmedabad, under their NavIC GAGAN Utilization Programme. The project, titled "Road Infrastructure and Traffic Condition Aware Efficient Scheduling and Mobility of Priority Vehicles in Indian Urban Scenario," aims to address challenges related to traffic management in urban areas. You will be responsible for tasks such as collecting, cleaning, and analyzing real-time and historical vehicle trajectories and incident data from NavIC/GPS-enabled devices and other traffic data sources. Additionally, you will work on training and validating machine learning models using multi-sensor datasets, designing and developing traffic simulation scenarios, and creating approximation algorithms and graph-based models for scheduling and routing problems. Your role will also involve supporting system integration and pilot deployments, as well as preparing technical reports, publications, and project documentation. To be successful in this role, you should hold an M.Tech degree in ICT/Computer/Electronics and Communication/Electrical or equivalent, with a background in Wireless communication and networks. Desirable skills include knowledge of micro-controller programming, proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++/Java and Android Application Development, a good understanding of probability, statistics, graph theory, routing algorithms, or scheduling problems, experience in data analysis and machine learning using Python, familiarity with IoT systems, GNSS/IRNSS NavIC, and vehicular communication protocols, as well as excellent communication and documentation skills. A CSIR-UGC NET or GATE qualification is desirable. This is a temporary position for a duration of three years, with the initial appointment lasting one year and the possibility of extension based on performance. While this position does not guarantee extension or absorption into DA-IICT, the selected candidate will be encouraged to apply for the PhD program at the institute. Product-based company experience is mandatory. You should possess knowledge of common routing algorithms, logical thinking skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in C#/C++ development environments. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and industry-standard SDLC processes is essential.
