The Core Network Engineer is a vital member of the Core Network Engineering team responsible for deploying, maintaining, and expanding a scalable, maintainable, and highly available network infrastructure that aligns with business objectives and SLAs. You will play a key role in creating low-level designs based on high-level designs, developing migration and implementation plans, and executing planned work during maintenance windows. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and validating high-level designs and migration plans, conducting end-to-end testing of engineered solutions, implementing network changes, assisting in capacity augmentation and optimization deployments, testing and certifying new network hardware and software, diagnosing and resolving network issues, suggesting performance improvements, and mentoring team members. As a Core Network Engineer, you should have an in-depth understanding of networking protocols like ISIS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPNs, and QoS. Your experience in network planning, design, and implementation in both high-level and low-level designs will be crucial. Proficiency in IPv4 and IPv6 migration techniques, policy languages, Juniper routing and switching products, reverse engineering, and problem-solving is essential. You will also need a solid grasp of technologies specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will be expected to document low-level designs, provide guidelines, work with route reflectors, and contribute to service provider network operations. Effective communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a delivery-focused mindset are essential qualities for success in this role. Preferred skills for the Core Network Engineer position include expertise in network security protocols and standards, MPLS, wireless LTE core network technology and protocols, Juniper technologies, BGP routing technologies, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure security.,
