As the Senior Engineer for the IAM Squad at Postman, you will play a crucial role in building and optimizing authentication standards and protocols such as OAuth2.0, OIDC, SCIM, SAML, and more. You will contribute to the development of a secure, reliable, and scalable IAM platform, focusing on areas like role engineering, session management, and implementing standardized formats to meet cross-functional authentication and authorization needs. Your responsibilities will also include empowering the product with seamless and secure enterprise onboarding methods, enhancing user and team management integrations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop APIs and products. Additionally, you will be involved in code reviews, advocating for better software engineering practices, and mentoring others to ensure the delivery of a high-quality product. Your technical expertise will be utilized in architecting solutions and facilitating cross-squad knowledge sharing on best practices. Furthermore, you will design and build internal tooling to streamline product development and maintenance processes. The ideal candidate for this role should have at least 6 years of experience in developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman's scale. Proficiency in Javascript, node.js, React.Js, and a solid understanding of web fundamentals are essential. A strong knowledge of Database fundamentals, particularly in optimizing queries, schema design, indexing, and caching, is required. You should have a proven track record of building products from scratch and be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders like Product Managers and Engineering Managers. Bonus points if you have a good understanding of authentication products, protocols, and methods like OAuth, SAML, OIDC, as well as previous experience in user/team management, role engineering, and access control. A willingness to learn, share knowledge, and possess a product-oriented mindset with empathy for users are also important qualities for this role.
