Job Summary:

Roku Developer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Roku applications using

  BrightScript

  and

  SceneGraph

  .
• Integrate with backend APIs to deliver video, metadata, and user interactions.
  
• Optimize application performance and ensure smooth playback across various Roku devices.
  
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement pixel-perfect, user-friendly interfaces.
  
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD processes.
  
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in development and production environments.
  
• Stay up to date with Roku platform updates and new capabilities.
  

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience developing applications for Roku using

  BrightScript

  and

  SceneGraph

  .
• Strong knowledge of

  Roku SDK

  ,

  RALE

  , and

  Direct Publisher

  (optional).
• Familiarity with

  RESTful APIs

  ,

  JSON

  , and video streaming technologies (e.g., HLS, DASH).
• Solid understanding of client-side performance optimization and memory management.
  
• Experience with source control systems like

  Git

  .
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with

  video DRM

  (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay) and ad insertion (VAST, VPAID).
• Familiarity with other OTT platforms (e.g., Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV).
  
• Experience with analytics and tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Conviva, Roku Analytics).
  
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
