Job Title: Fire Protection System Design Engineer Reports to: Engineering Manager/Project Manager Location: Bangalore Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection System Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles, codes, and regulations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design Fire Protection Systems: Design fire sprinkler systems, clean agent systems, foam systems, and other fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA codes, NBC Codes and standards, local building codes, and client requirements. 2. Conduct Site Visits: Conduct site visits to gather information, inspect existing fire protection systems, and identify potential fire hazards. 3. Develop Design Documents: Prepare design documents, including calculations, drawings, and specifications for fire protection systems. 4. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure fire protection systems are integrated with other building systems. 5. Perform Hydraulic Calculations: Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure fire protection systems are designed to meet water supply and pressure requirements. 6. Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders during construction and commissioning phases. 7. Mentor Junior Engineers: Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on fire protection system design principles and practices. Requirements: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 2. Minimum 2 Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in fire protection system design, with a focus on commercial, industrial, and residential projects. 3. NFPA / NBC / Local Standards: Knowledge & Practice of Design Standards & practice. 4. Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 5. Proficiency in Design Software: Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software. 6. Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop creative solutions. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master's Degree in Engineering: Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 2. Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM): Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. 3. Knowledge of Local Building Codes and Regulations: Knowledge of local building codes and regulations, including International Building Code (IBC) and International Fire Code (IFC).
