Robotics Simulation Engineering Intern

As a Robotics Simulation Engineering Intern at Pace Robotics, you will be responsible for creating and running high-fidelity simulation environments to test robots, sensors, and algorithms. You will collaborate closely with the robotics, mechanical, and embedded systems teams to accelerate development by ensuring that simulations closely mimic real-world scenarios. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build and customize simulation environments using tools like Gazebo and Isaac Sim. - Model robots, sensors, actuators, and environments to test algorithms in navigation, control, and perception. - Conduct experiments in simulation to validate robot behavior and test edge cases. - Collaborate with the team to automate testing pipelines and integrate simulation into the development workflow. - Document your findings and share insights with the broader team. **Qualifications Required:** - In the final year of pursuing a degree in a relevant STEM field or a recent graduate (< 1 year). - Proficient in coding with Python or C++. - Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2 and Linux development. - Knowledge of at least one simulation tool such as Gazebo or Isaac Sim. - Solid understanding of robotics fundamentals including kinematics, dynamics, or control. - Possess curiosity, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset. **Bonus Skills:** - Experience with 3D modeling software like Blender, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc. - Exposure to reinforcement learning or AI in simulation. - Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD workflows. - Any previous projects involving building robots, simulating systems, or contributing to open-source robotics.
