Brief Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our dynamic Research & Development team.The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in mechanical design and engineering principles, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement cutting-edge products and solutions. Responsibilities Generate innovative mechanical designs that meet project specifications and performance criteria. Develop product specifications and requirements based on market research and stakeholder inputs. Ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and performance.Select appropriate materials and finishes for components based on their functional requirements. Create tolerance analyses and conduct failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA) to ensure robustness. Build physical prototypes using various techniques, such as CNC machining, 3D printing, and traditional fabrication methods. Oversee the fabrication process, ensuring prototypes are built to specification. Work with suppliers and in-house fabrication teams to source and manufacture prototype components. Conduct thorough testing of prototypes to validate design concepts. Use analytical tools and techniques (e.g. FEA) to simulate operating conditions and predict performance. Design and execute test plans, including environmental, durability, and performance testing. Document test procedures and results, and perform root cause analysis on any failures. Refine designs based on test feedback and performance data. Implement changes to improve functionality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Maintain detailed records of design iterations and changes made during the prototyping phase. Work on the integration of mechanical systems with electrical, software, and other subsystems. Ensure cohesive functioning of the complete system by collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams. Develop system-level design documentation, including schematics, flowcharts.
