Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager Robotics Maintenance Department: Maintenance / Automation / Robotics Location: Dharuhera Role Objective: To ensure smooth functioning and maximum uptime of robotic systems (primarily welding robots and material handling robots) in the sheet metal manufacturing environment through preventive and breakdown maintenance, fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement in robotic performance. Key Responsibilities: Robotics Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Handle day-to-day maintenance activities of robotic systems such as spot welding robots , MIG/MAG welding robots , pick-and-place robots , and robotic grippers . Troubleshoot errors in robotic arms (brands such as ABB, Yaskawa, Fanuc, KUKA, Panasonic, etc. ) and associated automation equipment. Ensure timely resolution of mechanical, electrical, and programmatic faults in robotic systems. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all robotic equipment. Monitor health parameters of robots (cycle time, wear components, joint wear, grease levels, etc.). Maintain records of maintenance activities and downtime analysis (MTTR/MTBF). Programming & Calibration: Modify or develop basic robot programs for process enhancement or path correction. Teach points and perform robot calibration to ensure welding accuracy and consistency. Back up and restore robot programs and controller configurations. Process Optimization: Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve welding quality and cycle time. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen/TPM/Lean). Optimize usage of robotic systems to reduce cost and increase productivity. Vendor Coordination & Inventory: Coordinate with robot OEMs, service providers, and spare part suppliers. Manage critical spares inventory related to robotic systems. Team Management: Guide and train a team of technicians/engineers in robotic maintenance and troubleshooting. Ensure safety protocols are followed while handling automated machinery. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of robot programming and controller systems (ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa, etc.). Hands-on experience in robotic welding systems (spot/MIG/MAG). Working knowledge of PLC , HMI , servo systems , and sensors . Familiarity with TPM practices , root cause analysis , and FMEA . Strong problem-solving , analytical , and team-handling skills. Good communication and cross-functional coordination ability. Educational Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical , Electronics , Mechatronics , or Automation Engineering .
