Interpretation of Designs: Understanding and interpreting engineering designs and specifications to create accurate drawings. Collaboration: Working with engineers and other team members to ensure drawings meet project requirements and standards. Review and Revision: Reviewing drawings for accuracy and making necessary revisions based on feedback from engineers or other stakeholders. Adherence to Standards: Ensuring all drawings adhere to relevant building codes, industry standards, and project specifications. Required Skills: Proficiency in CAD Software: Strong skills in AutoCAD and potentially other CAD software relevant to civil engineering, such as MicroStation. Technical Drawing Skills: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate them into precise technical drawings. Knowledge of Road Design Principles: Understanding of road alignment, drainage, and other relevant civil engineering concepts. Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with engineers and other team members. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to drawing production and design. Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial for producing high-quality drawings. Education and Experience: Typically requires a diploma or degree in civil engineering or a related field. Experience in road and highway design and drafting is essential. Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software is a must. Specific experience in national highway and state projects may be required.
