Job Title: Computational Biology/Bioinformatics Specialist Company: Excelra Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram Experience Required: Masters degree with 2-3 years of industry experience. Joining Preference: Immediate joiners or candidates with up to 30 days notice preferred. Job Description: Excelra is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Computational Biologist with expertise in Omics (NGS) analysis to join our Bioinformatics team. The role involves working on projects related to raw sequence data analysis (scRNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, WGS, ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, Exome sequencing, genome assembly/annotations) and downstream systematic interpretation. You will be responsible for developing novel pipelines to optimize omics analysis for core service areas including genomics data analysis, drug repurposing, biomarker identification, patient stratification, disease modelling, and data integration . Qualifications: Masters degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Bioengineering, or related field 23 years of industrial experience Proven expertise in scRNA-Seq and other NGS data analysis Strong understanding of computational biology data management (NGS, Transcriptomics, Microarray, Proteomics, Clinical trials, Text mining) Proficiency in R, Python, shell scripting Experience with Docker and Nextflow Familiarity with machine learning is a plus Experience with Linux/cloud computing (AWS/GCP) Knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle) Experience with GitHub/version control systems Ability to generate in-silico experimental workflows and utilize biological databases/tools Strong scientific communication skills and ability to generate hypotheses Roles & Responsibilities: Collaborate with diverse customers and partners in drug discovery and development Work with a multi-disciplinary team of PhD-level scientists Manage day-to-day operations of Omics (NGS) projects Stay updated with scientific and technical advancements Present results and hypotheses to internal and external stakeholders Write research papers, reports, reviews, and summaries Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and project planning skills Note: Candidates who can join immediately or within 30 days will be given preference.
