(RN) Registered Nurse - IR/Radiology - Per Diem

As a Nurse Per Diem at UC San Diego Health, you will have the opportunity to work in a Magnet designated organization, recognized for nursing excellence in the U.S. healthcare sector. Your role will primarily involve serving the Interventional Radiology departments across various UCSD locations, with a focus on the East Campus where Radiology, IR, and Vascular access are provided by the IR nursing team. You will be expected to support areas within the radiology department as needed, which may require scheduled shifts at different locations. Your responsibilities will encompass autonomous nursing care, allowing you to assess and provide appropriate nursing actions for patient care populations based on your competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. You will be required to practice autonomously in alignment with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, exercising independent judgment within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. To qualify for this position, you must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing and hold an RN License issued by the State of California. Additionally, you should possess BLS and ACLS certifications at the time of hire, with a commitment to obtain ART within six months of the hire date. Flexibility to orient and work at various UCSD locations is essential, along with PICC insertion training and competency within six months of employment. PALS certification within six months and Moderate Sedation Certified within three months of hire are also required. Preferred qualifications for this role include a BSN, Moderate Sedation Certification, US IV Insertion experience, PICC insertion experience, and Vascular Access Certification. The position may require you to work varying hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is contingent upon a criminal background check and pre-employment physical examination.
