Position Overview

Rigger

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rigging and lifting operations for cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment as per load charts and method statements.
• Conduct pre-lift inspections of rigging gear, lifting tackles, slings, and chains; ensure compliance with IS, OSHA, and client standards.
• Read and interpret load charts, lift plans, and engineering drawings to ensure safe rigging configuration.
• Work closely with crane operators, engineers, and site supervisors to coordinate critical lifts.
• Ensure compliance with

  IS 3696 (Part 1 & 2), OSHA 1926.251, ASME B30.9

  , and site-specific lifting standards.
• Identify unsafe conditions, communicate hazards, and take corrective measures immediately.
• Maintain records of rigging gear inspection, discard criteria, and certifications.
• Provide mentoring/support to junior riggers and helpers.
• Support site safety protocols including toolbox talks, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Permit-to-Work (PTW).

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum

  ITI/Diploma

  in Mechanical/Relevant Trade.

• 6 to 8 years

  of hands-on rigging experience in industrial, construction, or power plant environments.
• Strong knowledge of lifting tackles, sling types, color coding, and safe working load (SWL/WLL).
• Experience with

  heavy lifts, tandem lifts, and critical rigging operations

  .
• Familiarity with safety management systems and statutory compliance requirements.

Skills & Competencies

• Deep understanding of rigging principles, center of gravity, load balance, and stability.
• Ability to read and understand lift plans, engineering drawings, and risk assessments.
• Strong communication skills with ability to coordinate in multi-lingual, multi-cultural teams.
• Safety-first mindset with knowledge of

  LOTO, PTW, and site-specific EHS requirements

• Physically fit with ability to work at heights and under challenging site conditions.
