This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 2200000 - Rs 2400000 (ie INR 22-24 LPA) Min Experience: 10 years Location: Kolkata JobType: full-time We are seeking an experienced and strategic Retail Head to lead and scale retail operations across stores. This role is critical in delivering exceptional customer experiences, achieving sales performance, and maintaining operational excellence in a premium or luxury retail environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in retail strategy, visual merchandising, team leadership, and customer-centric execution. Requirements Key Responsibilities Retail Strategy & Expansion Develop and implement the retail growth strategy, including new store launches, site selection, and expansion into high-potential markets Partner with leadership on store rollout planning, investment analysis, and forecasting future performance Sales Performance & Target Achievement Set, manage, and monitor sales targets at the store and regional level on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis Track KPIs such as conversion rates, Average Transaction Value (ATV), Units Per Transaction (UPT), and customer satisfaction Identify performance gaps and drive corrective initiatives Team Leadership & Training Lead and mentor a multi-tiered team including regional managers, store managers, and front-line staff Foster a high-performance, customer-first culture focused on service excellence and continuous learning Oversee training programs on product knowledge, upselling, and clienteling practices Customer Experience & Service Ensure all retail environments consistently deliver a premium brand experience Monitor customer feedback and Net Promoter Score (NPS); personally manage high-value client experiences when necessary Operational Excellence Oversee daily retail operations including staffing, inventory management, compliance, and adherence to SOPs Collaborate with logistics and merchandising to ensure stock availability and optimize product flow Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation Ensure all stores maintain brand consistency through merchandising, layout, and seasonal display standards Work closely with the design/visual merchandising team to implement brand-aligned aesthetics Retail Marketing & Events Partner with marketing to execute in-store promotions, product launches, and customer engagement events Support regional and local marketing efforts to drive foot traffic and brand recognition Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field; MBA preferred Minimum of 10 years in retail, with 45 years in a leadership role within jewellery, luxury, or fashion retail Proven success in expanding retail footprints and driving profitability Strong understanding of luxury retail operations, CRM, and omnichannel strategies Key Competencies Leadership and team development Strategic thinking and execution Customer-centric mindset Financial and operational acumen Strong communication and interpersonal skills Data-driven decision making High aesthetic sensitivity aligned with premium brand standards
