Role: Postgresql Database Administrator Location: Egmore, Chennai Salary: 5-7 LPA Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing and optimizing PostgreSQL and MySQL databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, availability, security, and scalability to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database. Monitor database performance, implement tuning and optimization strategies. Ensure database backups, restore procedures, and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested. Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as indexing, vacuuming, and updates. Design and implement database schema changes in coordination with application developers. Manage user roles and permissions ensuring data security and compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner. Write and maintain documentation for processes, policies, and procedure Work closely with development, DevOps, and QA teams to support software lifecycle needs. Automate repetitive database tasks and scripts to improve efficiency. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator. Strong experience in PostgreSQL and MySQL administration, tuning, and backup/recovery. Solid understanding of SQL queries, stored procedures, indexing, and performance optimization. Familiarity with replication, clustering, and high availability setups. Experience with Linux-based environments and command-line tools. Knowledge of monitoring tools like pgAdmin, Percona Toolkit, Nagios, Zabbix, etc. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
