Residential Advisor and NurseThis is an integrated full-time role for a professionally trained and experienced nurse who is committed to helping students and staff with health-related concerns and to building and supporting a community among students living on campus. This will ensure students have access to medical care after school-hours.

Avasara Academy is a nonprofit institution located in Lavale Valley, just outside Pune, India. - Proactively support a healthy residential community that meets students academic and non-academic needs.
- Orient and communicate with students and parents about residential life.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of day-to-day activities.
- Handle situations of emergency as and when these arise.
- Coordinate all logistics related to activities and life in the hostel.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and hygienic hostel facility.
- Ensure that disciplinary guidelines are communicated and are fairly and consistently applied.
- Schedule, facilitate and lead activities for students.
- Create, maintain, and update all forms, and documents related to residential life at Avasara.
- Collaborate with the Faculty and School Counselor to support students needs.
- Contribute to setting program goals and to the development of policies and procedures for the residential life program.
As a Residential Nurse
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Residential Nurse will be to provide physical health services to students outside school hours by treating injuries, illnesses, and other medical conditions. At the same time, the Residential Nurse is also expected to help with preventive care by educating students on hygiene, nutrition, and self-care. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Utilizing clinical knowledge and judgment to treat injuries, illnesses, infections, contagious diseases and other medical conditions of students and staff
- Maintaining health record of students
- Managing the school health clinic
- Notifying the parents about their daughters health issues
- Providing first aid and emergency care for injury and illness
- Educating students on hand washing, germs, and other health care and safety-related matters
- Contributing to developing and managing the school health and wellness programme
- Performing health screenings
- Coordinating referrals to private healthcare providers
- Serving as liaisons between school personnel, family, and community healthcare providers to ensure a healthy school environment

Desired Experience and Qualification
- A Bachelor of Nursing degree is a must.
- 4+ years direct experience in nursing
- Impeccable organization skills
- Able to establish rapport with students and their parents
- Basic computer skills would be preferred.
- Fluency in Hindi and Marathi is preferrable. A working knowledge of English is also preferred.
