Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care

  • Provide round-the-clock medical coverage and emergency care to admitted patients.
  • Conduct regular ward rounds (morning and evening) and assess patients’ clinical conditions.
  • Record and update patient progress notes and inform consultants of any changes in patient condition.
  • Initiate necessary investigations and ensure timely reporting of results.
  • Assist consultants in managing inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV infusions.
  • Ensure that all treatment orders are carried out accurately and promptly.

2. Emergency & Critical Care

  • Attend all emergency cases promptly and provide immediate medical attention.
  • Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate with specialists for further management.
  • Manage cardiac arrest, trauma, poisoning, and other acute medical emergencies following hospital protocols.
  • Participate actively in Code Blue and resuscitation procedures (BLS/ACLS preferred).

3. Operation Theatre & Procedure Assistance

  • Assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures when required.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide post-operative care in consultation with the surgical team.
  • Ensure pre-operative preparation and post-operative monitoring of patients.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with consultants, nursing staff, and paramedical teams for smooth patient management.
  • Update patient relatives regarding patient status and treatment plans (as per hospital policy).
  • Coordinate with diagnostic and support departments for timely investigations and interventions.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain proper and updated medical records for all patients.
  • Document all treatments, procedures, and incidents accurately in patient case sheets.
  • Report and document medico-legal cases (MLC) as per hospital and legal requirements.
  • Prepare discharge summaries and ensure proper handover during shift changes.

6. Administrative Duties

  • Supervise and guide nursing and junior medical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.
  • Participate in hospital audits, training sessions, and clinical meetings.
  • Ensure availability of emergency drugs and medical equipment.

7. Ethical & Professional Conduct

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical medical practice.
  • Display professionalism, empathy, and good communication with patients and families.
  • Adhere to hospital code of conduct, punctuality, and discipline.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
