We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Chemist to support the analysis, development, and quality control of base oils used in lubricant formulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, petroleum products, and lab instrumentation. This role is key to ensuring consistent product quality, compliance with specifications, and supporting R&D for product improvement. 🧠 Key Responsibilities: Perform chemical and physical analysis of base oils using methods such as GC, FTIR, UV-VIS, viscosity testing, TAN/TBN, pour point, flash point, etc. Conduct quality control testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished base oils. Collaborate with production and R&D teams for product development and formulation support. Prepare and maintain accurate lab reports, COAs (Certificates of Analysis), and documentation as per ISO/GMP standards. Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and recommend corrective actions. Ensure lab equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used safely. Stay updated on industry standards (e.g. ASTM, API, etc.) and regulatory requirements. 📚 Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Petrochemical Engineering, or related field. 1–5 years of experience in a petroleum lab or base oil/lubricant industry preferred. Solid knowledge of lubricant base oil classifications (Group I–V) and performance parameters. Experience with lab instruments such as GC, FTIR, Viscometer, Flash Point Tester, etc. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and report-writing skills.
