Reporting To: Factory Manager / General Manager Operations / Director Job Summary: The Production Supervisor / Plant Head will be responsible for managing the overall production operations of the plant. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising day-to-day manufacturing activities, ensuring product quality, managing manpower, optimizing resources, and achieving production targets while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Control Prepare and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Allocate resources (manpower, machines, materials) to meet production targets. Monitor production output and ensure timely delivery as per customer requirements. Operations & Supervision Supervise shop-floor activities, assign work to operators/workers. Monitor machine operations, minimize downtime, and ensure preventive maintenance. Coordinate with purchase, quality, and stores departments for smooth workflow. Quality & Compliance Ensure production is carried out as per quality standards & specifications. Reduce rejection, wastage, and rework through process improvement. Maintain ISO, safety, and statutory compliance within the plant. Manpower Management Supervise workers, technicians, and team leaders on the shop floor. Conduct on-the-job training, motivate the workforce, and resolve disputes. Prepare shift schedules, monitor attendance, and manage labor efficiency. Cost & Efficiency Optimize raw material consumption and control production costs. Implement lean manufacturing / 5S practices for process improvement. Track KPIs like OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime, and yield. Reporting & Coordination Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports for management. Report breakdowns, production delays, and suggest corrective actions. Coordinate with higher management on production planning & strategies. Key Skills Required: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines, and materials. Leadership and people management skills. Production planning & ERP knowledge. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills. Familiarity with safety standards and quality control systems. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma / B. Tech (Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Industrial). 5 to 10 years experience in manufacturing / plant operations. Prior experience in a supervisory or plant head role is preferred.
