Key Responsibilities Architect, design, and optimize relational database systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL) for scalability, availability, and robust performance. Lead database upgrades, migrations, replication, change management via Oracle GoldenGate (OGG), Liquibase, and automation scripting. Design data models, schema management, data movement and pipelines, ensuring best practices in DDL, DML, security, backup, and recovery. Implement and monitor database performance, perform tuning and troubleshooting utilizing monitoring tools/reports (such as AWR, ADDM, SAR). Manage AWS database services (Aurora, RDS), including setup, configuration, performance optimization, and high availability. Write and maintain Shell scripts to automate database management, DevOps deployment, and routine operational tasks. Collaborate with architects, development teams, and business stakeholders to define database requirements, deliver technical specifications, and drive modernization strategies. Lead process improvements across database services, driving automation, compliance, and operational excellence (including self-service, DR drills, disaster recovery, audit). Mentor and guide technical teams, sharing expertise on advanced database engineering topics and engaging in critical incident response as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications 12+ years hands-on experience in enterprise database engineering and technical leadership. Advanced proficiency in Oracle and PostgreSQL database architecture, installation, configuration, tuning, migrations, and replication.
