Program/process Governance: Ensure all process and project related deliverables include defined controls and supporting evidence meet agreed upon requirements. Ensure agreed upon governance practices are in place and adhered too – daily/weekly/monthly status reporting of team activities against the program plan or schedule. Establish working relationships within the Client environment across other actuarial functions, finance, IT and project management teams. Timely escalation of issues requiring attention to Genpact leadership/Client process owners; create necessary action plans. Establish a process documentation structure that best serves the need to train a new hire and also provide step by step guidance to a doer / reviewer. Participate in on-call and overnight production support and problem resolution activities Develops and maintains DBMS related standards and procedures to facilitate the identification and implementation of,quality improvement initiatives Research, evaluate, and test new software and DBMS related tools and facilities as they pertain to the existing DBMS environment, database designs, procedures, and applications Assume responsibility for the security of company information through secure databases and monitoring environment to identify improper access and ensure compliance with all ETS security and audit standards Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the AWS hardware, operating system, network and database arenas and provide consultation and knowledge transfer as needed Monitors current DBMS performance and capacity and develops procedures to improve the DBMS environment Lead and mentor teams of other Infrastructure or application DBA staff to solve technical database and system challenges Collaborate with other application DBA staff, senior infrastructure DBA staff, developers, and other technical staff to ensure that best practices are followed for relational database design, database configurations, and installation options Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function PROCESS OUTPUTS High performance and secure application databases Project plans, technical reports and standards documentation that are on time, accurate and on-budget Highly available and scalable database server infrastructure Database and system tuning, backup and recovery Compliance with ETS security and audit standards Consultation to peers and internal contacts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the hardware, operating system, network and database arenas PEOPLE MANAGEMENT The Lead Database Administrator directs and mentors teams of DBA staff with minimal supervision. This role functions autonomously on a regular basis, seeking direction from senior management in atypical situations.
