As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in remanufacturing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of engines and systems, your primary responsibility will be to develop technical solutions and design concepts. You will be accountable for the design and development of engine components, including sheet metal, piping, and machined parts, as well as systems and sub-systems. Your role involves ensuring quality, meeting timelines, and delivering on all tasks, subtasks, and projects. Additionally, you will create technical documentation for manufacturing, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting purposes. In this position, you will review technical concepts developed by your peers and manage technical changes, new releases, and bill of materials in PLM and ERP systems such as Windchill and SAP. Your expertise will be crucial in defining wear limits and criteria for assessing used parts, as well as in improving processes and creating relevant documentation. Collaboration with the service team for MRO solution development will also be a key aspect of your role. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering and possess 6-8 years of relevant experience. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes like casting and machining is essential, along with knowledge of maintenance, repair, and overhaul practices, remanufacturing processes, and overhauling specifications. Familiarity with cost-effective repair and overhaul processes for engine components is also required. Proficiency in 3D-CAD systems, particularly Pro Engineer/CREO, and expertise in ISO GPS-based Geometric Tolerancing are preferred qualifications. Hands-on experience with PLM systems like Windchill and ERP systems like SAP is necessary. Your ability to work effectively with cross-functional and global teams, along with your flexibility, teamwork, and independent work skills, will be valuable in this role. A passion for tackling new challenges, a drive for results, and good problem-solving abilities are qualities that will contribute to your success. Furthermore, you should have good project management and stakeholder management skills, as well as excellent communication abilities. Knowledge of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and the German language is considered advantageous. Flexibility for travel based on the job requirements is also expected.
